Remember Chris Nieratko? I sure do. I remember him sitting in shotgun in a van I had the pleasure to navigate from Frankfurt to Dortmund a few years back. For all I knew back then, that guy was dangerous. He was Big Brother's editor at that time, permanently drunk (the real Gentsch, so to speak, because Gentsch isn't nearly as drunk as people say he is) and as much as I enjoyed reading his articles, I was kinda scared of ending up in them. So, being the humourless German that I am, I answered all his questions about the possibilities of entering the backdoors of German females as truthfully and sincere as I possibly could. I had actually expected the questions, so I came prepared. Well, kinda.
Anyway, my answers were so dry that Chris fell asleep after the first sentence. There's no other way I can explain why the fact that I almost killed half of the then Globe team never made it to the pages of Big Brother, or this book, for that matter. What a bummer. But I reckon I'll pay him back by simply not reviewing his book, even though it's a good read. And definitely not a good gift for your parents.
