We are at the head of the queue in front of gate number 18 of the International Airport of Lisbon ready for boarding.  The flow of passengers has been stopped, we will have to wait for some minutes with the ticket and ID in hand.  Our crew is a little separated from other passengers.
After the exchange of a series of jokes between us, everyone stayed in silence. One of those breaks in conversation, one of those moments during which everyone seems to have said everything and no one seems to have, or want, to add something.
For some seconds everyone seems to isolate from the rest of the crew and the murmurs of the airport seems to melt into other people’s voices.
In that silence suddenly I hear Yari asking the super beautiful and super formal hostess standing behind the desk: “Excuse me, I have a question for you, in your opinion, on a scale from zero to ten how glamorous do you find me?”
Style is not water and when you born or you have it or you don’t have it. Sure, you can make it better but to be a natural you must be born natural. Yari is like that, he is a natural, he has the style and the directness that you must have to have style.
There are people that have the ability to attract human beings and situations, people that have a different energy, the energy that creates the group and make things happens. Warriors, skatepark, bus tour, The Casotto, talk to a girl or obtain five more minutes to skate a spot. Always with a smile. Always positive even when its not that instinctive, a disarming spontaneity, the spontaneity typical of those people who are happy by nature, because whatever happens, “its always ok”.
When she knocked on his door he opened and probably asked Her: “Excuse me, in your opinion from zero to ten how glamorous do you find me?” …and then shut the door on her face. Always with a smile.
