You feel alright after last night?

Yeah good cheers

How did you feel about the Video?

It was amazing, they kept it so D.L. no one one knew what to expect. No one knew about the intro or anything. It was pure shock.

Personally I’ve never seen the London crowd react that well before, it was just mental right?

I didn’t even get to see the down stairs, I was up stairs and you couldn’t get the full effect. Rob had a kazoo apparently.

How do you feel about your part?

Really really stoked, a lot of footage that I thought wouldn’t be used got used, which was a good. Having seen the stuff Ty’s done before I thought the editing would be a bit different, not in a good or bad way but it turned out really well.

Did you like having a combined part with Brady?

I think it worked for us because it took the pressure off a bit. Plus I don’t think me and Brady individually are at the level to take on a full section each at this stage. It works well because I think Brady and I kind of have different styles that compliment each other. It helps.

How did you link the French connection section?

Lucas just kills it, they all killed it.

Are you heading to any of the other premiers..?

N..O. no I’m staying in London cheers. No real reason.

How long did you film for this video?

Good question I don’t actually know, maybe about two and a half years. It’s kind of hard to say because they kept putting the deadline back by a couple of months, so the pressure was there to get the best shit done the whole time.

But that worked out better for me anyway.

Did you get involved in any of the action man explosions intro stuff?

No I didn’t even know about it. We had to do the Brady bunch skit. It was a comedy type sketch. It worked way better than I thought it would. I think Ty’s tried it before, years ago, it’s on the Girl box set.

Were you under a lot of pressure?

Big time, it’s up to you though, they were pretty mellow with us but you just know who you’re in with. You just keep thinking Fuck I’m Fucked, I better do something here, and gradually things just start coming together. I try never to think everything’s ok and I have loads of time etc.

Have you been on any trips with the team at all?

Only one, I went to Malaga with Scott Johnston and Pappalardo. I go out with the French Connection lot quite a bit.

This video is going to become a classic, you do realise this?

I haven’t really thought about it much, I try not to think about it because it’s easier for me. In a way I’d rather just think about trying to do better and keep progressing, rather than get up in it if you know what I mean.

I suppose it hasn’t really dawned on me yet. I can’t wait to get out the DVD and watch it a few times, take in all the parts.

How many times have you seen the movie?

Twice, both times in London.

You went to both the premiers here, back to back?

Yeah, the first premier was a bit quieter; I think kids were just a bit shocked. The second showing went off.

Which section sticks out in your mind?

I personally liked Pappalardo’s section.

Did anything do your head in whilst filming? Do you have any stand out moments of madness?

I had this one idea to do this thing in Baker Street. I was going to try to ollie from bench to bench over this spiked fence, and land in nose manual, but I kept worrying about hitting a stone or hanging up and poke my eye out or something, I kept thinking ‘if only it was a little bit shorter’ so I hack sawed off a couple of inches off of this fence, Only to try it later and discover that there was just no way I was going to do it. So I spent hours sawing a fence up for nothing! I fully went to a couple of spots and didn’t do anything at them. I had to re-film some stuff…

Which trick was your ultimate nemesis?

The hardest thing I filmed was the switch nose grind flip out on that ledge in France. I had been to Reading festival that week and hadn’t been on my board for a few weeks before because of an injury. So I was losing my marbles as it were when I got to the spot and at that stage Lucas was at the pinnacle of skateboarding, filming that backside smith-grind flip out with in an hour and I couldn’t even get to grips with my board, I was getting real negative thinking I shouldn’t have come. So I thought fuck it and went to the shop and bought about 6 mars bars, two cans of Coke and 3 Tropicana’s and thought right, I’m only here for 2 days so I may as well make the most of it, about six hours later I had landed it. The feeling of riding away was pure surprise; I had gotten into that routine of not landing it so when it happened it was the best feeling.

Cheers for that Nick.
