During the few hours we recently shared, on a cold and wet first weekend of 2008, Valentin struck me as a rather precocious young man. Or, to be fair, it happened when I finally asked his age… Before, I took him for a rather motivated young man, ready to take adventure seriously enough to go on solo missions to big cities, in order to meet new people, skate new spots and get stuff done. Then, he started talking about school, and his soon to happen graduation made him look quite young. That’s something you usually pass when you’re 18, in France…
Therefore, yes, Valentin is indeed a young man that knows what he wants and has some talent to get there. But he also has the will that can make the difference. I know for a fact that he will graduate at spring, and then he’ll move to either Lyon or Paris to embrace a bigger world where skateboarding takes a big place. And it’s nice to know…
