Paris skatepark opening ends in bloodshed; future already in limbo.

The opening of the long awaited Skatepark de Paris ended up in an attack from local thugs that beat up one skater with his own board (poor guy suffered multiple head injuries, but no major trauma) and broke the hand of a BMX rider trying to save him, in front of a security enjoying “the show” as they were friends of the attacking crew! Next thing you know, the security got fired, and the hurt skater is attacking the council. At printing time, the park is in limbo, neither open nor closed. And when your community wants to open a skatepark next to the worst housing project in town, warn them about being too smart for their own good!
