When did you arrive at La Réunion [Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean- Ed]?
What date are we, then? It must be two or three weeks…

How’s the weather?
Super hot, while it’s winter in France. Here, we could get tropical cyclones!

You’ve already witnessed one!?
No… there was one, but he passed a bit further.

Yep, on both sides, in fact.

Not far, in Mayotte [another Island, NDR].

Nah, no more Toulouse. I gave up my room there a year ago.

If you haven’t noticed, it’s the return of the thirty somethings these days!
Yeah, some can hold it down! But I’ve never been much of a healthy guy, and with all those cigarettes… [laughter]

Now, it’s about 3 o’ clock. I just woke up from a nap.

In that heat, what’s the program for the day like?
I go to bed early around 2h00, and wake up early. Siestas. It’s real famous for surfing, here…

You do a bit of it?
Yeah, I’m trying, but the bottom is very close. You can get cut on the corals, or get eaten by sharks! [laughter]

How is it where you are staying? Is it city like, or in the middle of nowhere?
I was with a friend, close to the ocean, and now I’m at my grandma’s, in the heights. Right in the centre of the island. Tropical mood. Can’t complain!

Now, I’m jealous, I’m still coughing from the flu!
Yeah, but here, there are so many mosquitoes! [laughter]
