You at home right now?
Yeah, I just moved to Barcelona, got here an hour ago. I’m going to live here for 3 months before going back to SF in mid- March.
Where did you come from this time?
Alicante, where I’m from. Or actually Elche, my home town, but I always just say Alicante, because a lot of people know where that is better than Elche, like a few hours south from Barcelona. I stayed at my parents’ house. I still have my room and everything there. They live in the countryside, I really like it, it’s just super chill. And actually I’m going back there in February, when we’re doing a Volcom tour there with me, Hans [Claessens], Chris Pfanner, Peter Molec and Willow. He’s new on the Volcom team.
Really?
Yeah he just signed two weeks ago. He’s actually in Alicante right now. He was doing a tour with some German magazine, so I met up with them for like a couple of days.
Who did you move in with?
With Daniel Lebron and three other guys. One of them, Alex, works for Dogway and then there’s Jesus, who films.
What about Jesus Fernandez, does he live there as well?
No, he moved out, I’m in his old room. And it’s so small! [laughs] But it’s good enough for three months.
Cause all your stuff is in the US, right?
Yeah, every time I come back from the States, I don’t bring anything. I don’t like to travel with a lot of shit. Consolidated pay for a room in SF so whenever we go there we can stay in the room. But mostly it’s just me staying in there and sometimes Maru from Japan. It’s pretty cool.
What are you up to in Barcelona for the next three months then?
Aah, e-skate! I didn’t skate for a while, I’ve been sick. I’ve had fever, like really bad, and my throat is swollen, I’m fucked. I’ve actually just come home from the hospital right now. I’m getting these shots for the flu, I have to go three more days. It’s working, I’m feeling better.
And after Barcelona?
I’m going to Tampa Pro in the middle of March and then we’re doing a Consolidated East Coast tour or something like that. So yeah, that’s about it.
Right, well thanks a lot and hope you’re feeling better. Say hi to Dani and Jesus for me, will you!
