Lem Villemin and Alex Mizurov dominated the first round of the COS Cup, the official German Championship series, in Osnabrück and Münster last weekend, taking first and second place after a completely bonkers final jam session. Lem sealed the deal with a perfect switch 360° flip over the curb cut - I’m not too sure whether that’s been done before. And the place has been there for quite a few years already. It was good to see Louis Taubert back on track as well. He was one of the top candidates for the championship 2007, but a game of soccer, or, to be more precise, a smashed ankle got in the way - he ended up in fourth place.
The Bones team was in attendance, especially Adam Dyet, who didn’t exactly shine through his skating, but more through just being a plain dick; e.g. sending people out for cocaine, stomping glass bottles at the party making shards fly in peoples faces. Come on man, grow up, will you?
This is the first time after a few years of “sponsored only” that the COS Cup has an amateur series as well, and this premier went down nicely as well. The “kids” in attendance skated on a respectable level and were obviously stoked to be part of the deal.
The next stop is not even two weeks away: June 6th-8th is the date, Dresden’s beautiful outdoor concrete park Lignerallee is the place, last year was a blast there. And have we mentioned the COS Bowl series yet? There is one, as well as two vert stops, and a series called COS essentials, which is more of a session with BBQ, DJs, and no schedule to follow.
