Sneaking across borders in the Middle East, just to go for a skate; it doesn’t get much rawer than this. This is a documentary about skateboarding in Jordan and Israel put together by a group of skaters who don’t care which side of the fence you’re from, so long as you’re down for the cause.

Synopsis:

It all started one hot summer day in Amman, Jordan, a skater landed a sick trick in front of his crew… ‘that trick was sour, man’… not too much is sweet in the war plagued Middle East, but that doesn’t stop life, and life is better than sweet… it’s SOUR.

Already familiar with images of war and destruction from the media, this film asks the real question… “What does an instrument of peace look like?” Filmed during the Lebanon/Israel War of 2006, SOUR features a youthful ensemble of top Arab and Israeli skate talent, including Idan “Aziz” Abra, Noam“ Jimmi” Beer, Tzahi Einat, Udi Hasson, Mohammed Kahil, Omar Nash, Saif Qaisi, Hamzeh Zahran, and Mohammed Zakaria.

In essence, ‘Sour’ is a film about doing the things you love with people you’re not supposed to like.
